Weekend Blues

March 19th, 2007 at 05:56 pm

Weekdays are so much easier to stay on the straight and narrows of budgeting. I always walk away from the weekend feeling that too much cash and time has slipped away from me.

This weekend was no different, after watching money slip through my hands for grocery shopping I tend to get a little depressed.

Although we are cautious with our funds, it's just the thought of a lump sum disappearing from my cache of funds that I find upsetting.

I think I am still well on track to my goals for the month so I am using those thoughts to bolster my spirits.

Is there a particular time that you feel more down or depressed about your financial situation or goals? How do you cope?

This time of year actually. DH got a bonus and almost all of it goes to pay taxes. He is very upset, but I pointed out to him what we paid for this year... a new roof and a wedding, and we paid cash. So at least we didn't have to charge anything!

Oh I am self-employed and based on the year before, we didn't pay enough since we had more deductions (medical specifically due to YD's surgery) in 2005. Hopefully in 2008 his bonus will be ours to do something with.

So my advice is try to look at how much you have done.
